This module looked at two very different aspects of the North Pennine music scene, brass bands and traditional folk music.

Stanhope Silver Band

The folk element was presented by John Gall, formerly of Beamish Open Air Museum, who has been collecting folk songs and recitations for many years. In the afternoon John was accompanied by three well known folk musicians, Johnny Handle, Terry Conway and Liz Law who performed a number of songs from the North pennine Region.
